Howard County High School Students Earn Top Honors At 2024 National Economics Challenge
Students from Mt. Hebron High School emerged victorious at the 2024 National Economics Challenge.
HOWARD COUNTY, MD — Students from Mt. Hebron High School took top honors twice at the 2024 National Economics Challenge.
Organized by the Council for Economic Education, the finals were held in New York City. Mt. Hebron won both the Adam Smith division for advanced and returning competitors, as well as the David Ricardo division for first-time competitors.
This marks the seventh straight competition in which a Mt. Hebron team has been named a finalist or national champion.

Nearly 8,000 students competed across the country in the contest. In subsequent international rounds, the Mt. Hebron teams also outscored China’s championship Shanghai Pinghe School team in their David Ricardo division and Shanghai Starriver Bilingual School in their Adam Smith division.
