Hole on I-95 Prompted Emergency Repairs: SHA
The State Highway Administration said the 20-foot hole affected two lanes near MD 100.
HOWARD COUNTY, MD – An emergency repair led to lane closures on Interstate 95 north of the exit for MD 100 for several hours on Wednesday, according to the State Highway Administration.
A 20-foot deep “pavement disturbance” that possibly included a collapsed pipe impacted the two right lanes on I-95 north, state highway officials reported after 5 p.m.
The closures began at 4:10 p.m., according to the Coordinated Highways Action Response Team (CHART).

By 8 p.m., all lanes had reopened, the State Highway Administration reported.
During the repairs, state highway officials advised drivers to consider alternate routes and stay extra vigilant, stating around 5:30 p.m. there would be major delays as crews worked on the large hole in the road for up to four hours.
