House Fire in Columbia Under Investigation

Crews responded to a home in Kings Contrivance, where a house fire broke out Thursday evening.

COLUMBIA, MD - A house fire broke out in Columbia Thursday night at a house that was discovered to be unoccupied. Crews responded to the blaze before 10 p.m. in the 10100 block of Silver Twine, according to the Howard County Department of Fire and Rescue Services.

There was heavy fire showing from the front of the home when authorities arrived. While initial reports indicated there may have been someone trapped inside, authorities conducted searches that did not reveal anyone was in need of rescue.

Around 10:15 p.m., the fire was knocked.

Authorities reported the blaze was extinguished after 11 p.m.
