Howard County Firefighters Rescue Frightened, Injured Kitten From Vehicle's Engine

Howard County firefighters were able to successfully rescue an injured and frightened kitten from within a vehicle's engine.

HOWARD COUNTY, MD — Tales of firefighters rescuing cats from trees really do happen. As do calls for help when a kitten wedges itself inside a car's engine.

Howard County's Station 8 in Ellicott City received a call recently from a resident who found a 10-week-kitten kitten in distress and injured. It was stuck behind the engine block of the car.

Members of Engine 82 rolled up on the scene and one firefighter climbed right up into the car's engine to carefully unstick the frightened kitten. The baby was taken to a local animal rescue for medical treatment.
