• Bruce Springsteen to miss 'Jimmy Kimmel' appearance with Tom Morello (app.com) — Bruce Springsteen still plans to headline Tom Morello's Power to the People Festival at Merriweather Post Pavilion in Columbia on Oct. 3, despite canceling a TV appearance. The all-day event, billed as a celebration of peace and justice, will feature big-name acts like Foo Fighters, Dave Matthews, Joan Baez, and Public Enemy, and will also stream online.
   

• Ossolodkovs complete golden sweep at Acro Worlds; women's group takes silver • USA Gymnastics (usagym.org) — A Columbia gymnast, Juli Williams, helped the U.S. women's senior group capture a silver medal at the Acrobatic World Championships in Italy, matching the country's all-time Worlds medal haul. Alongside teammates from Jessup and Ellicott City, she narrowly trailed China and edged Belarus, adding international recognition for athletes from right here in Howard County.
   

• Scottsdale Claims Top Spot in WalletHub Employment Rankings (news-usa.today) — Columbia has been ranked the second-best city in the country for job seekers in WalletHub's latest employment analysis, just behind Scottsdale, Arizona. The study compared over 180 cities on salaries, job security, commute times, and other quality-of-life factors, suggesting Columbia offers a particularly strong mix of opportunity and livability for workers considering their next move.
