Siblings Have Babies Same Day at Howard County General

The same doctor delivered both babies hours apart at the hospital in Columbia.

Two infants delivered this week at Howard County General Hospital share more than their birthdays—they have some DNA in common.

Audrey Elaine Evans entered the world at 11:23 a.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 13.

For her parents, Brian and Katie Evans, the day was especially symbolic. The number 13 has been a good omen throughout their relationship. They began dating when they were 13 years old and married 13 years later, on Sept. 13, 2014.

The couple didn’t have to go far to introduce their newborn to the family; Brian’s sister Cara and her husband, Adam Pugh, were down the hall at the hospital, where they celebrated the birth of their own baby girl that afternoon.

Taylor Catherine Pugh arrived at 3:19 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 13.

Dr. Mark Esposito delivered both, according to the hospital.

Brian Evans and Cara Pugh are siblings who have always been close, according to the hospital, which reports he was the best man at his sister’s wedding.
