Howard County police are investigating a non-fatal shooting late Monday, Aug. 30, in Columbia. 

At approximately 11 p.m., police were called to the 5500 block of Cedar Lane for a report of shots fired. They located Kyjuan Jennings, 20, of Columbia, nearby suffering from non-life-threatening injuries. He was transported to University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center where he was treated and released.

Through investigation, detectives believe Jennings was alone in his vehicle in a parking lot and was approached by suspects from another vehicle. Jennings was shot and the suspects fled. Police found evidence at the scene that multiple shots had been fired.
