ELLICOTT CITY, MD – An overnight BGE maintenance project to replace a utility pole near the intersection of Main Street and Maryland Avenue in Ellicott City, is scheduled to begin today, October 18th. During the overnight work, Main Street will be closed from Oella Avenue in Baltimore County to Old Columba Pike nightly from 10:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. on October 19th through October 22nd. Detour signs will be in place to divert motorists around the closure. During these overnight hours, access to Parking Lot B will also be closed. BGE expects there will be no power interruption to its customers during the maintenance work. Weather permitting, the project is expected to be completed by 6:00 a.m., Friday, October 22nd.

While the County and its transportation partners work hard to maintain safe traffic mobility in work zones, drivers are reminded to stay alert and look for reduced speed limits, narrow driving lanes and highway workers. Please slow down and don’t follow too closely when traveling through a work zone. Remember, work zone safety is in your hands.
