Howard County police are investigating a fatal single-vehicle collision overnight in Laurel in which one person was killed.
At approximately 2:38 a.m. on Nov. 11, a 2011 Ford Crown Victoria was traveling eastbound on Johns Hopkins Road approaching the traffic circle at Gorman Road when it left the roadway for an unknown reason and struck a tree. The driver and sole occupant, an adult female, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver’s name will be released once next of kin has been notified. The investigation into the cause of the collision is ongoing.
