Howard County Public Schools Issue Closing Notice

Public schools and school offices will be closed in Howard County on Tuesday, Jan. 26, according to an announcement from the Howard County Public School System.

Evening activities at schools—including athletic practices and games as well as community-sponsored events—are canceled on Tuesday.

School officials made the announcement Monday afternoon, as crews continued to clean up across the county, where more than 2 feet of snow was reported.

There were snow drifts in excess of 8 feet in parts of western Howard County, government officials reported.

This is the third snow day for Howard County students related to the blizzard that hit over the weekend; school was also canceled on Monday, Jan. 25, and Friday, Jan. 22.
