Howard County Schools Change Schedule For Monday Due To Weather
The incoming snowstorm has prompted Howard County Public Schools to change their schedule for Feb. 23.
HOWARD COUNTY, MD — With an extended winter weather advisory stretching into Monday, officials announced Sunday that Howard County Public Schools buildings and offices will be closed Monday.
Officials initially implemented a two-hour delay, but then switched to a closure. Central Office staffers are to work virtually.
All afternoon and evening activities involving HCPSS students and staff are canceled.

All community-sponsored programs in HCPSS buildings are canceled. Check with organizations for details about relocation or rescheduling.
If Howard Community College is open as scheduled, HCPSS students who are enrolled at HCC and cannot attend due to a lack of transportation should notify their professors immediately using their MyHCC email or Canvas. HCC operating status information can be found online. As of 10 p.m. Sunday, HCC had issued a 10 a.m. start for Monday.

The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm warning until 10 a.m. Monday for Harford and Howard counties with total snow accumulations between 5 and 10 inches with localized amounts around 12 inches in northeast Maryland. Northwest winds gusting between 30 and 45 mph overnight through Monday.
