Nitrous Lighting is here to solve some big problems in the a lighting market today:

  • Light Intensity
  • LED Cooling Capacity
  • Wiring and Power Supply Complexities
  • Size

1. Light Intensity

Most cars on the road today are equipped with halogen reflector lighting. You will get about 1200 lumens, amount of emitted light, out of one of these bulbs. These get the job done by getting you home from work, but are insufficient for driving at higher speeds and inclement weather. If you also wanted a wider coverage of light, you would need to add several auxiliary lights. This is where HID lighting comes in. You can find these very commonly on luxury cars today and they have a shocking 3000 lumens per bulb. HID bulbs fitted properly with a projector can give you amazing control over the light beam but suffer when it comes to electrical complexities. HID bulbs require a power inverter called a ballast that can be quite costly to replace and requires sightly more planning when installing on certain types of vehicles. While there are many LED lights on the market today, Nitrous Lighting does a few things differently. They can achieve 3600 lumens per light assembly while having the same electrical connection as a halogen bulb. The next section describes how this is possible.

2. LED Cooling Capacity

Nitrous Lighting LED lights are designed to dissipate a large amount of heat, especially while moving. One of the most significant features of the design are the thick fins that encompass the entire body. This design allows a great amount of air to flow over the fins while driving, keeping the LEDs cool. When they stay cool, they can run brighter. There are many LED lights on the market with fins on the back. This is an economical manufacturing practice, but the LEDs will not benefit as much because airflow moves slowly behind the light and quickly on the sides. In addition to the physical design, Nitrous Lighting also uses Active Temperature Monitoring (ATM). It is an internal computer that allows them to run as bright as they possibly can without overheating. When you are parked, they run cool, and when you drive, they push themselves to their limits. Other LED lights will always run in the cool state to prevent overheating, while ours increase intensity without overheating.

3. Wiring and Power Supply Complexities

While hooking up LED lights made by Nitrous Lighting is as easy as replacing a halogen bulb, they do not require as much power as a halogen bulb. One Nitrous Lighting LED Light emits 100 lumens per each watt that it consumes, while a halogen bulb emits only 22 lumens. HID is much better at 86, but still no match for Nitrous Lighting. This means that using existing wiring will not be problem when replacing existing lights with Nitrous Lighting. You will even save energy!

4. Size

Here is the biggest surprise, Nitrous Lighting builds the brightest lights for their size. Its lightweight and slim form factor make them easy to mount in various locations while blending in with the look of any vehicle. A single light is only 4.50" x 1.65" x 1.54"! That means these lights can be mount just about anywhere without the need for extra wires or power inverters. It is also fully waterproof and has an impact resistant lens to protect it from the roughest environments.
