It's A Girl: New Year's Day Baby Born At Howard County General

Morgan Mackenzie Cross was born at 12:06 a.m. New Year's Day at the Howard County hospital.

COLUMBIA, MD — An 8 pound, 5 ounce baby girl was the first baby born in the New Year at Howard County General Hospital. Mary Lyons and Keith Cross welcomed Morgan Mackenzie Cross at 12:06 a.m. Jan. 1. Morgan is the couple's second child. She measured 20 inches long.

Approximately 3,100 babies are born at Howard County General Hospital every year and Morgan kicked off the 2021 tally. According to UNICEF, more than 370,000 children were born worldwide on New Year’s Day.
