Laurel Man Killed After SUV Crashes Into Tree: Howard County Police

ELKRIDGE, MD — Police are investigating a car crash that happened Friday night in Elkridge that killed the driver.

At around 6:42 p.m. May 10, 42-year-old Icaro Freire-Pina of Laurel was driving a 2019 Honda CR-V southbound in the 7100 block of Dorsey Run Road when it left the road and hit a tree. Freire-Pina was the only person in the vehicle. He was taken to St. Agnes Hospital where he was pronounced dead, according to police.

Police are investigating whether Freire-Pina experienced a medical emergency before the collision. The incident remains under investigation, the department stated.
