Man, 69, Killed In Hit-And-Run Accident, Reward Offered: Howard County Police
A reward has been offered for information that helps Howard County Police solve a hit-and-run case that happened in Laurel.
HOWARD COUNTY, MD — William Early Shaffer, 69, of no fixed address, was killed Friday when he was hit by a vehicle shortly before 11 p.m. near Laurel. Howard County Police say Shaffer was in the 9600 block of Washington Boulevard when the incident occurred.
Police believe the involved vehicle was a Ford Explorer and the driver left the scene before officers arrived. Shaffer was taken to Howard County General Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Washington Boulevard was closed in both directions for approximately 2.5 hours after police arrived.
