Man Assaulted In Home, Suspect Steals Vehicle: Howard County Police

A man reported being assaulted in his Howard County home and having his vehicle stolen by the suspect, police say.

HOWARD COUNTY, MD — A man reported being assaulted in his Columbia home and having his vehicle stolen by the suspect, according to Howard County Police.

The incident happened June 7 around 9:20 a.m. in the 6500 block of Fruitgift Place, Columbia. The resident was taken to the hospital for treatment. Police stated they didn't think it was a random incident.

In other crime news, the Dunkin' located in the 5400 block of Harpers Farm Road, Columbia, reported being robbed June 9 around 6:50 a.m. An employee told police that a man walked into the business, made threats then stole cash and took off. No one was injured, according to Howard County Police.

Leelynn's Dining Room and Lounge located in the 9400 block of Old Annapolis Road, Ellicott City, reported being broken into by the suspect forcing open a door in the overnight hours of June 9-10. Nothing was reported stolen, according to Howard County Police.
