Man Denied Bail After Traffic Incident: Columbia Crime
A burglary at a Columbia restaurant, man denied bail after traffic incident, apartment assault and more crimes were reported in Columbia.

COLUMBIA, MD — The Howard County Police Department provided the following information about recent incidents. Arrests do not indicate convictions.
There was a break-in at Boston Market in the 9000 block of Snowden River Parkway. The burglar(s) broke windows at the restaurant and stole cash. The commercial burglary was reported at 12:34 a.m. on Jan. 7.
A traffic incident on Cross Fox Lane at Twin Rivers Road led to drug and weapons charges against a Halethorpe man. The incident occurred at 4:02 p.m. on Jan. 6. Police arrested Tion Jamaar Bell, 30, of Regis Court, after authorities found suspected marijuana, a loaded gun and other items that indicated drug distribution in one of the vehicles. Bell was being held without bail at the Howard County Detention Center, according to court records. In 2006, Bell pleaded guilty and was sentenced to 15 years for first-degree assault. He also pleaded guilty that year to a fourth-degree sex offense and was sentenced to one year in 2006. In the assault case, The Baltimore Sun reported a 4-year-old boy was shot and a bullet lodged in his brain when Bell fired 10 bullets at someone else and one went through an apartment window and hit the child as he was coloring.

A woman was assaulted and robbed by an acquaintance in the 6500 block of Quiet Hours. The suspect threw a rock through an open window into the woman's apartment, and when she confronted the suspect, the person assaulted her and stole her cell phone. There were no serious injuries, and police said that the investigation is ongoing into the incident, which occurred at 1:08 p.m. on Jan. 6.
A TV, laptop and printer were stolen from a residence in the 7200 block of Dockside Lane. The burglary happened between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. on Jan. 5. There were no signs of forced entry.
