Man Killed In Head-On Crash On Route 97 In Howard County
Police said the man was ejected during the three-car collision that occurred early Thursday morning in Glenwood.

HOWARD COUNTY, MD — A man died early Thursday morning when he was ejected from a vehicle during a three-car collision in Glenwood, according to police.
Howard County police said the crash happened around 5 a.m. when a 2004 Honda Pilot traveling north on Route 97 near Roxbury Road crossed the center line and struck a southbound 2018 Chevrolet Silverado.
Following the initial crash, police said the Honda also collided with a southbound 2021 Chevrolet Traverse before coming to rest at the northbound guardrail.

According to police, a man riding in the backseat of the Honda was ejected from the vehicle and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the Honda and another passenger were taken to the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center. An additional backseat passenger was not seriously injured.

The driver and passenger of the Silverado were taken to Carroll Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The driver and passenger of the Traverse were not seriously injured.
Investigation into the cause of the collision is ongoing. Route 97 was closed at Roxbury Road for approximately five hours.
