Man Stabbed in Columbia After Basketball Game: Police
Fighting broke out and a stabbing occurred after a basketball game earlier this week in Columbia, Howard County police said.

COLUMBIA, MD ā Authorities are investigating a stabbing that happened this week at a basketball court in Columbia, according to the Howard County Police Department.
A man who had been playing basketball in the 5300 block of Old Stone Court was stabbed after the game, police reported. The suspect was described as a teen; police said no further information was available.
Approximately 15 to 20 men had been playing basketball at the outdoor court before 6 p.m. on Tuesday, April 19, and after the game, police said several of the players started fighting.

During the fight, the victim was stabbed, according to police. He was taken to the hospital, where officials said he was treated and released.
The stabbing near Phelps Luck Elementary School occurred less than a week after a man was treated for a stab wound at Howard County General Hospital, an injury he said occurred in Howard County, police reported.
