March Snowfall Totals in Columbia

How much snow did Columbia get? Tell us if you measured!

Howard County received a light coating of snow overnight.

The following unofficial measurements were submitted to the National Weather Service Friday morning:

  • Elkridge—2 inches; taken at 7 a.m.
  • North Columbia—1.9 inches; taken at 7 a.m.
  • East Columbia—1.5 inches; taken at 7 a.m.

Leonardtown in St. Mary's County got the most reported snow, with 7 inches, according to preliminary data submitted to the National Weather Service.

All school districts in central Maryland carried on business as usual Friday, including Howard.

In areas where there was slightly more snow, there were some modifications. Schools in Calvert County opened two hours late, while schools in Wicomico County and Worcester County were closed due to inclement weather.
