Meal Service At Long Reach High School Halted Due To Coronavirus
Students and families may pick up meals at Phelps Luck Elementary School or any other Howard County school meal location.
COLUMBIA, MD — Meal service at Long Reach High School will be closed from Thursday through Dec. 1 and will reopen Dec. 2. Students and families may pick up meals at Phelps Luck Elementary School or any other school meal location. Meals that were pre-ordered for pickup at Long Reach during this period may be picked up at Phelps Luck Elementary School instead.
Meal service was suspended because staff at the site who were identified as close contacts are being directed to quarantine, leaving insufficient staff availability to operate the food site. However, the building remains open and safe for other staff to enter. Students and family members who recently visited the Long Reach High School meal site are not considered potential close contacts to anyone who tested positive for COVID-19.
Custodians will ensure that the entire building is cleaned using protocols recommended by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
