Merriweather Burglary, Robbery at ATM, Soda Theft: Columbia Crime
Multiple vehicle thefts were also reported this week in Columbia, Howard County police say.

COLUMBIA, MD — The Howard County Police Department said these crimes were recently reported around Columbia.
Copper wire was stolen from a fenced sound stage at Merriweather Post Pavilion. There were no signs of forced entry in the burglary, which was reported overnight between Oct. 3 and 4 in the 10400 block of Little Patuxent Parkway.
A man was trying to steal cases of soda from Pepsi on Alexander Bell Drive when an employee confronted him. At that point, the suspect ran. The incident was reported at 11:31 p.m.. on Oct. 2.

A man using an ATM in the 8800 block of Centre Park Drive was distracted by a woman who stole his card from the machine. The robbery occurred at 4:30 p.m. on Oct. 1.
A woman and a juvenile were assaulted while she was getting into her vehicle in the 5700 block of Stevens Forest Road. The young man who assaulted them did not take anything, and there were no serious injuries. The incident was reported at 8 p.m. on Oct. 1.

A porch screen was damaged in the 7500 block of Water Lily Way between Oct. 1 and 3. Nothing was stolen, and the suspect(s) did not get into the residence.
Burglars went into a home in the 8800 block of Stonebrook Lane, took keys from the foyer and stole a 2011 Toyota Highlander. The theft happened between noon and 3:20 p.m. on Sept. 30.
A gray Honda Accord was stolen from the 5300 block of Brook Way. The vehicle, which had a Pennsylvania plate "JST967," was reported stolen at 3:25 a.m. on Oct. 5.
Someone attempted to steal a motorcycle from the 8900 block of Footed Ridge at 8:31 a.m. on Oct. 3.
A 2015 Ford tow truck was stolen from the 9500 block of Gerwig Lane between Oct. 2 and 3. The Maryland vehicle had a license plate 04840TT.
A 2005 silver Honda Accord was stolen from the 10600 block o Gramercy Place between Oct. 2 and 3. The car had a Maryland plate that reads "1ASZ77."
A 2000 Chevy truck was stolen from the 8700 block of Cloudleap Court between Oct. 1 and 2.
A 2012 gray Chrysler 200 was stolen from the 10300 block of Faulkner Ridge Circle, reported at 11:20 a.m. on Oct. 1.
A red Nissan Sentra was stolen from the 8700 block of Airybrink Lane between 5:55 and 6:05 p.m. on Oct. 1.
A 2007 black Toyota Corolla was stolen from the 8800 block of Hayshed Lane at 2 a.m. on Sept. 30.

Authorities are investigating a stabbing and a crash in Jessup reported at 8 p.m. on Oct. 3 that appear to be related. Two men were taken to shock trauma with injuries that were not believed to be life-threatening as a result. After 8 p.m., police found a 45-year-old man on the sidewalk in the 7900 block of Washington Boulevard who had been stabbed. At approximately the same time a few blocks away, a 24-year-old man had crashed his vehicle into a pole. Investigators said that it was unknown who stabbed the 45-year-old man and why the 24-year-old driver hit the pole. However, they did determine the two men had been together at some point and may have been with other people.
