New Finance Director Hired At Howard County General Hospital

HOWARD COUNTY, MD — Katherine Turner has been appointed director of finance and decision support for Howard County General Hospital. In this capacity, she will oversee the finance and decision support team, as well as the financial functions of the hospital and foundation including budgeting, cost-accounting, financial analysis, financial systems and reporting.

Turner most recently served as a software implementation consultant for Syntellis Performance Solutions (formerly Kaufman Hall). Prior to that, she was the financial planning and analysis manager at Anne Arundel Medical Center.

“Katherine is an excellent addition to our finance team,” said Dr. M. Shafeeq Ahmed, interim president of Howard County General Hospital. “She brings a wealth of experience to the role, having worked in health care previously.”

Turner received a bachelor of science degree in health and human performance from the University of Louisiana, a master of science degree in kinesiology from Louisiana State University and an MBA degree from Johns Hopkins University.
