New Pocket Park Plans In Ellicott City Unveiled At Upcoming Community Meeting
Community members are encouraged to attend an upcoming meeting to discuss a proposed pocket park in Ellicott City.

HOWARD COUNTY, MD — A community outreach meeting will be held Nov. 12 so residents can discuss the installation of a new pocket park along the northside of St. Paul Street behind 8109 to 8125 Main Street.
As part of Howard County Executive Calvin Ball’s Ellicott City Safe and Sound Plan and Ellicott City Watershed Master Plan, the project will create a terraced park space along the existing hillside and a new pedestrian connection between lower Main Street and St. Paul Street. The park's ramps, stairs, decks and landscaped areas will be a part of the “green cultural trail” network. The project also will facilitate an emergency egress from Main Street, providing people with access to safer, high ground areas.
Currently in the preliminary design phase, the project’s design should be completed by mid-2025 with construction to follow.
