Pedestrian Hit By School Bus In Columbia: Police

BREAKING: The crash involved a school bus from Cradlerock Elementary School, police said.

COLUMBIA, MD — A pedestrian was hospitalized Monday after being hit by a school bus in Columbia, according to the Howard County Police Department. No students were injured in the crash, police said.

Authorities said the collision happened at 2:50 p.m. on Oakland Mills Road at Homespun Drive.

A 25-year-old woman had been crossing the street when she was hit by the bus from Cradlerock Elementary School, officials reported.

Five Cradlerock students were on the bus at the time, according to police, who said none were injured and all were released to the custody of their parents at the scene.

The pedestrian was taken in stable condition to a local hospital, according to police. She had minor injuries, officials said. The bus driver was reportedly uninjured.
