Police Arrest 17 in Howard County DUI Enforcement Detail

Five Columbia residents were charged with driving under the influence during overnight patrol, Howard County police said.

HOWARD COUNTY, MD — The Howard County Police Department charged 14 people with driving under the influence during an impaired driving enforcement detail between Saturday night and Sunday morning.

Two people were arrested on warrants, one was arrested for alleged drug possession and the following 14 people were charged with driving under the influence, Howard County police reported:

  • Annagale C. Watson, 32, of Columbia
  • Heather L. Cleveland, 31, of Columbia
  • Ryland Huynh, 21, of Columbia
  • Jose M. Reyes, 39, of Columbia
  • Akash Kapoor, 23, of Columbia
  • Gregory M. Huizinga, 39, of Ellicott City
  • Sarah L. Hall, 24, of Catonsville
  • Jonathon D. Cook, 39, of Oxon Hill
  • John E. Breitmeyer, 49, of Parkville
  • Paul S. Lee, 20, of Severn
  • Alan P. Webb, 29, of Towson
  • Stephen E. Parker, 30, of Mount Airy
  • Joshua A. Torres, 37, of Marriottsville
  • Robert J. Schmidt, 52, of Catonsville

The Howard County Police Department routinely conducts sobriety checkpoints and other enforcement initiatives to curb impaired driving throughout the year.

The Maryland Highway Safety Office helped fund this weekend's detail with a grant, according to the Howard County Police Department, which reported extra officers were put on patrol for the initiative.
