Possible Suspect in Columbia Road Rage Incident Arrested: Police

Police said that a man who may have shot at a vehicle in Columbia was taken into custody in another jurisdiction.

A man who authorities say may be the suspect in a road rage incident reported Monday in Columbia was arrested in Harford County Monday night.

The suspect, who has not been publicly identified, had facial tattoos and allegedly fired a handgun at the driver's side door of a vehicle on MD 108 at Phelps Luck Drive around 6:30 a.m. on Monday, police said.

The suspect vehicle was described as a dark Chrysler 300 with chrome wheels and the suspect was a muscular, bald, medium-complected black man with facial tattoos.

When deputies in Harford County pulled over a man who matched that description and was driving a Chrysler 300 with chrome wheels, they found he was armed and notified Howard County, police reported.

"Howard police are investigating the possible link between the cases to determine if charges will be filed against the man, who remains in custody in Harford County," the Howard County Police Department said in a statement Tuesday. " Howard County police do not believe the public needs to continue to look for the suspect vehicle..."

It was not immediately available why the man was stopped and detained in Harford County.
