COLUMBIA, MD — Baltimore Ravens wide receiver Sean Modster, Ravens cheerleaders and mascot Poe recently visited Guilford Elementary School to help celebrate the school's success with the PLAY 60 Challenge. The NFL program inspires kids to attain the recommended 60 minutes of physical activity a day in school and at home. The Ravens representatives helped get the school “pumped up” for exercise, then school staff led student fitness activities.

Guilford has participated in a variety of physical activity challenges for many years, and the entire school embraced the official Ravens’ PLAY 60 Challenge this fall.

“This fits into our school’s wellness plan by reminding students the importance of being active every day, which we do every year in PE," said Guilford PE Teacher Carol Wolter .

This year, all HCPSS elementary and middle schools were invited to participate in the Ravens PLAY 60 Challenge. For two weeks, students at participating schools tracked their total minutes of physical activity during PE class and outside of school. The top schools with the most minutes were drawn at random to be selected for the PLAY 60 pep rally.
