Repeat Car Thief Arrested: Columbia Police Blotter
Police said a Columbia teen stole multiple vehicles; a deliveryman was assaulted and robbed; and an indecent exposure was reported.

COLUMBIA, MD — The Howard County Police Department provided the following information about recent crime events in Columbia. Arrests do not indicate convictions.
A Columbia teen who was just sentenced in another car theft from the summer was charged with taking two more vehicles this month. Daqwahta Zion Jackson, 19, of the 6300 block of Sand Chain Road, was charged in connection with the Nov. 15 theft of a vehicle in the 6500 block of Sweet Fern and Nov. 13 theft of a vehicle in the 7000 block of Deepage Drive. He was also charged with theft and unauthorized removal of property in those cases. Court records show Jackson was sentenced last week to 18 months of supervised probation in another case involving a vehicle theft from July. He is being held without bail on the new charges pending a preliminary hearing in Howard County District Court on Jan. 15, 2018.
A purse was stolen from a vehicle in the 9000 block of Snowden River Parkway at 12:22 p.m. on Nov. 28.

A 2001 Ford F-250 was stolen from the 5400 block of White Mane. The vehicle theft was reported at 5:27 a.m. on Nov. 28.
A Columbia man is paying the price for parking in a fire lane. Police said that 25-year-old Dontrell Travon Milner of Brook Way was charged with drug possession with intent to distribute and multiple weapons violations. Officers originally made contact with him because of a fire lane violation in the 3200 block of North Ridge Road in Ellicott City at 11:33 p.m. on Nov. 27. Authorities found more than 10 grams of marijuana and a handgun in the vehicle, police said.

A 44-year-old Upper Marlboro man was charged with robbery, assault and theft in connection with a robbery in the 5400 block of Beaverkill Road. The victim said he was assaulted and his wallet was stolen around 5:12 p.m. on Nov. 27. There were no serious injuries.
Tools were reported stolen from a vehicle in the 8800 block of Stanford Boulevard at 6:18 a.m. on Nov. 27.
A wallet was stolen from a vehicle in the 9000 block of Flicker Place, reported at 10:04 p.m. on Nov. 26.
A man delivering food in the 7200 block of Eden Brook Drive was robbed of his wallet, cell phone and food. The robbery happened around 8:10 p.m. on Nov. 26. The suspects were described as two black men, one who had a heavy build and was 5 feet 8 inches to 5 feet 10 inches tall and another who was thin and 5 feet to 5 feet 3 inches tall. The victim did not sustain serious injuries.
A home in the 9000 block of Constant Course was burglarized between 4 and 6 p.m. on Nov. 26. Two purses, credit cards, cash, a wallet and jacket were stolen. The burglary happened through a front door that was left unlocked.
On the Spot Mobile Detailing was burglarized in the 9100 block of Red Branch Road. Two people broke into the business around 1:14 a.m. on Nov. 26. It was not clear whether anything was stolen.
Appliances were stolen from a vacant apartment in the 5300 block of Harpers Farm Road. The burglary happened between Nov. 24 and Nov. 26. The apartment was unlocked.
An indecent exposure call in the 8900 block of River Island Drive in Savage resulted in the arrest of a man from Alexandria, Virginia. A woman reported someone exposed himself outside her home at 12:06 a.m. on Nov. 25. Desmond Oppong, 21, was charged with indecent exposure and released.
A 2014 Honda Civic was reported stolen from the 12200 block of Little Patuxent Parkway at 1:30 a.m. on Nov. 25. It has Maryland tags that say "2DB3306."
