Rescuers Recover Body of Missing Swimmer in Patapsco: Police
Natural Resources Police said man was swimming in prohibited area.

Fire and rescue personnel recovered the body of a 22-year-old Prince George’s County man at Patapsco State Park Monday, after he went swimming in a prohibited area Sunday evening, police reported.
Bryan Estuardo Diaz of Landover disappeared from view after 6 p.m. Sunday near a large rock in the middle of the river, witnesses told police.

He had been swimming below the Bloede Dam in an area that is marked with multiple signs in English and Spanish stating that swimming is not allowed, according to police.
Diaz is the sixth person to drown near Bloede Dam in the past decade, Natural Resources Police reported, noting the area is particularly dangerous due to dam outflow.

Dive teams from the Howard County Department of Fire and Rescue Services and Maryland Natural Resources Police searched for Diaz Sunday evening and could not find him, according to police.
After sunrise on Monday, more than 20 divers and support personnel searched below the 30-foot concrete structure and recovered the body in 4 to 5 feet of water beneath the dam, police reported.
Shortly after 1:30 p.m., Natural Resources Police said the body had just been found.
The dam is located near the Baltimore-Howard county line.
