Columbia Homicide: Police Offer $5,000 Reward For Tips

Police have announced a reward for information in the death of Ronald Carolina Jr., 27, who was shot and killed in Columbia.

COLUMBIA, MD — There is a reward for information about a homicide in Columbia. Police will provide $5,000 for tips regarding the deadly shooting last week of a man near Harper's Choice.

Detectives are seeking leads in the murder of Ronald Carolina Jr., 27, of Columbia. The Howard County Police Department announced the reward on Tuesday, April 2.

Carolina was shot multiple times in the 5400 block of Old Tucker Road on Thursday, March 28, police said. Officers were dispatched to the area at 5:21 p.m. for a report of someone shot.

Police said the man was taken to Howard County General Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

According to witnesses, multiple people approached Carolina before the shooting. Then after several shots were fired, witnesses told police the suspects left.

While detectives think the shooting may be drug-related, police said the motive remains under investigation. And while initial reports indicated there were two suspects, police said Tuesday that authorities are looking into whether additional suspects were involved.
