Robberies Reported In Columbia May Be Related: Police Report
The Howard County Police Department is investigating three separate robberies that occurred Sunday. Two of the three may be related.
COLUMBIA, MD — Three victims reported being robbed May 31 in Columbia in three separate incidents, but two of the cases may be related, according to a police report. At 7:42 p.m. Sunday, a taxi driver reported being robbed at gunpoint when he was dispatched to the 7000 block of Knighthood Lane to pick up a passenger. When he arrived, two men with their faces partially covered entered the vehicle, one showed a gun, and then they stole cash from the driver before fleeing, the Howard County Police Department reported.
Police believe a second incident that same night at 10:22 p.m. may be related to the case involving the taxi cab driver. In this incident, a man was delivering pizza to a resident in the 6900 block of Little Boots when he was approached by two men with their faces partially covered. One man showed a handgun and the other stole the food. A suspect climbed into the vehicle and demanded the victim drive to a nearby ATM and withdrew cash, which the pizza delivery driver agreed to do, the police department noted in a report.
At 10:45 p.m. that same night, a man was walking in the area when he reported being approached by two men who stole his wallet. No one was injured in that incident, according to a police report from the Howard County Police Department.
