Motorcyclist Flown From Route 32 Crash: Police

Two vehicles collided on MD 32 in Howard County, sending one man to the hospital, officials said.

HOWARD COUNTY, MD - One person was seriously injured after his motorcycle crashed into an SUV in West Friendship Saturday evening, according to the Howard County Police Department. Authorities reported that the motorcyclist was flown to shock trauma.

Kenneth Reid Stalcup, 58, was riding south on MD Route 32 on his 2003 Yamaha XV 1600 when he hit a Honda SUV in the area of Old Frederick Road, police said.

The Honda had a green light on Old Frederick Road and was crossing the intersection of Route 32 at 7:19 p.m. when the collision occurred, according to authorities.

Police said Stalcup was taken by medevac to the University of Maryland R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center with serious injuries.

Honda driver 48-year-old Sandy Pohyang Kim and an 8-year-old passenger were uninjured, officials said.

Parts of Route 32 were closed for two hours as police investigated, and authorities reported Saturday night that the crash investigation was ongoing.
