Annual HoCo Open Art Exhibit Runs Jan. 17-Feb. 22

The non-juried annual exhibit celebrates artists who live, work or study in Howard County.

ELLICOTT CITY, MD — The Annual HoCo Open Art Exhibit kicks off Jan. 17 with a special reception from 6-8 p.m. at 8510 High Ridge Rd. The exhibit runs through Feb. 22. The non-juried annual exhibit celebrates artists who live, work or study in Howard County. Eligible artists age 18 and older were encouraged to submit one piece of ready-to-hang original worked created in the past two years to the Howard County Arts Council for consideration and inclusion in the exhibit.

Also on exhibit with the Howard County Arts Council in Gallery II is "What It Is by Deidre Argyle," which transforms gallery space into an immersive installation composed of fabric cubes, projections and sound. The exhibit explores questions about time and repetition, bringing to light the cycles that govern people including creation, decay and transformation.
