SAT Testing Canceled For Aug. 29 At Howard County School Sites

Due to high school seniors' inability to take the SAT in person due to the coronavirus, many colleges are waiving test scores for admission.

HOWARD COUNTY, MD — The Aug. 29 SAT testing scheduled at several Howard County Public School System buildings will not be held due to the coronavirus and subsequent school closure. The test was to have been administered Saturday at Centennial, Glenelg, Hammond, Mount Hebron, Reservoir, River Hill and Wilde Lake high schools.

The school district has not announced whether it will administer the test as originally planned on Sept. 26 at Centennial, Glenelg, Oakland Mills and Reservoir high schools. Depending upon the coronavirus-related restrictions in place at that time, HCPSS officials may need to cancel or reduce capacity.

Currently, the College Board allows test site administrators to decide whether or not they are comfortable holding testing sessions. The College Board did cancel May and June test dates due to the coronavirus pandemic.
