Sewers May Be Smoky on Guilford Road: HoCo Fire and Rescue
The Howard County Department of Public Works is conducting smoke testing in the sewer systems around Savage, officials said Tuesday.

SAVAGE, MD — Smoke may be present along Guilford Road on Tuesday due to testing, public safety officials say.
County public works personnel will be conducting smoke testing in local sewers, according to the Howard County Department of Fire and Rescue Services.
During the testing, officials introduce nonhazardous smoke into the sewer system to see where it seeps out, as a means of identifying defective parts of the sewer where groundwater or rain may get inside.
