Shaker Drive Construction Project To Begin

From Howard County: A Howard County construction project to loop two public water mains along Shaker Drive in Columbia is scheduled to begin on or about Monday, February 11.

The project will include the installation of approximately 1,210 linear feet of eight-inch diameter PVC water main to be installed along northbound Shaker Drive from Justice Place to Allview Drive.

The project will provide a secondary loop to Christ Memorial Presbyterian Church and will increase the reliability of the area’s water system. In addition, permanent restoration work, including road pavement will be completed at the conclusion of the project. Weather permitting, the project is expected to be completed by late April.

Temporary lane shifts along northbound Shaker Drive near of the project can be expected during construction hours, Monday, through Friday, 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Signs and flagging operations will be in place to direct traffic as needed, and signs have been posted to advise motorists of the construction.
