Smoke At Hayshed Lane Apartment Draws Firefighters
Howard County firefighters handled an incident in Long Reach where a possible apartment fire was reported.

COLUMBIA, MD — Firefighters were called to an apartment in Long Reach Thursday evening for an incident that resulted in smoke but not fire, officials said. Nobody was injured, and the issue was traced to a heater.
At 7:15 p.m., crews were dispatched to Hayshed Lane for a possible fire at an apartment, according to the Howard County Department of Fire and Rescue Services.
When firefighters arrived, they found that a heating unit had malfunctioned.

Before 7:30 p.m., officials said that firefighters were clearing the scene. Nobody was injured, and no fire was found.
