Stolen Car Chase, Pellet Gun Threat, Parking Lot Assault: Columbia Crime
A witness's report about suspicious behavior in Columbia led to the arrest of two people wanted on open warrants, Howard County police said.

COLUMBIA, MD — The Howard County Police Department provided the following information about recent incidents in Columbia. Arrests do not indicate convictions.
Two men were arrested after a witness reported seeing them trying to get into vehicles on April 3 in the 10200 block of Greek Boy Place and 10200 block of Windstream Drive. When police responded and located the suspects, they found that two were wanted in open warrants for unrelated cases; they were arrested. Police are continuing the investigation into the third suspect.
A 20-year-old Baltimore man and a 16-year-old Baltimore boy were charged with auto theft when police stopped a vehicle that had been reported stolen in a neighboring jurisdiction. When the 2008 Chevrolet was stopped at 12:32 a.m. on April 3, both the driver and passenger were arrested without incident in the area of MD 175 at Dobbin Road.

A 16-year-old from Columbia and an 18-year-old from Ellicott City were charged with auto theft after they would not stop a speeding vehicle and led police on a brief chase. The vehicle had been stolen on April 1. Both boys were arrested at 3:39 a.m. on April 2 in the area of US 29 at US 40.
An airbag was stolen from one vehicle, and five others were accessed in the 10300 block of College Square on April 1. It was unclear whether anything else was stolen.

A juvenile threatened an acquaintance with a pellet gun as the victim was walking through a neighborhood in the 5600 block of Stevens Forest Road. The incident occurred at 6:20 p.m. on March 31. Nobody was injured.
A silver 2013 Nissan Rogue was reported stolen from the 5900 block of Turnabout Lane at 6:09 a.m. on March 31.
Two video game consoles were stolen from a residence in the 5700 block of Yellowrose Court between March 28 and 31. The front door may have been unlocked.
A man assaulted an employee and threatened him with a knife at Lowe's in the 8200 block of Gateway Overlook Drive at 8:49 p.m. on March 29. The suspect had stolen a power tool and was in the store parking lot when the employee confronted him and tried to grab the item. There were no serious injuries reported.
