Suspect Rams Cop Car, Crashes Into Another Vehicle: Police

The suspect was seriously injured in the crash and taken to the University of Maryland Shock Trauma. Two passengers also were injured.

COLUMBIA, MD — A suspect attempting to break into vehicles at the shopping center located in the 6400 block of Dobbin Road Wednesday night fled the scene in a Chevy Impala then rammed an unoccupied police vehicle and a second vehicle. Police saw the crash and engaged in pursuit, prompting the suspect to take off. The suspect was driving north on Snowden River Parkway at Snowden Square Drive and ran a red light, striking a 2020 Honda HR-V in the inersection.

The suspect was taken to the University of Maryland Shock Trauma with serious injuries. The suspect was in the vehicle with another adult and a juvenile who were taken to Johns Hopkins Hospital.

Police are investigating the incident and charges against the suspect are pending.
