Symphony Of Lights Turns Merriweather Post Pavilion Into Holiday Wonderland

More than 300,000 bulbs and a giant 150-foot screen sets the scene for a magical holiday experience at the annual Symphony of Lights.

HOWARD COUNTY, MD — The annual Symphony of Lights kicks off Nov. 24 in Howard County. For more than 25 years, the light display at Merriweather Post Pavilion is made of 300,000 bulbs creating larger-than-life animated and stationary holiday light creations. New this year is a 150-foot screen.

Symphony of Lights will run from Nov. 24 through Jan. 1. It will be open weekdays from 6 to 10 p.m. and weekends 5 to 10 p.m. for those who wish to drive through. Symphony of Lights will be closed Nov. 27-30 and Dec. 5-6, Dec. 8, Dec. 12 and Dec. 31.

Festive Families will be held Nov. 27 from 5:30 to 8 p.m. Families are able to walk through the display with strollers, wagons and backpacks.

Tail Lights will be held Dec. 6 from 5:30 to 8 p.m. Dogs must be leashed and festive costumes are encouraged.

Lit at the Lights will take place Dec. 8 and offers beer and cocktail samples, entertainment and food trucks.

Midnight at 7 will be held Dec. 31 from 5:30 to 8 p.m. with fireworks at 7.

Merriweather Post Pavilion is located at 10475 Little Patuxent Parkway, Columbia.
