Teen Charged With Murder In Death Of Howard County Man: Police
A 15-year-old boy has been charged with first- and second-degree murder, assault and handgun violations in connection to a HoCo man's death.
HOWARD COUNTY, MD — A teenage boy has been arrested and charged in connection with the Oct. 7 homicide of Rakki Miguel Jones-Onyejiaka, 36, of Columbia.
Officers were called to the 10400 block of Hickory Ridge Road at 8:17 p.m. Oct. 7 for a report that a man had been shot in the parking lot. They found Jones-Onyejiaka dead. Through investigation, detectives identified a 15-year-old male from Columbia as the suspect and learned his family members were engaged in an ongoing dispute with Jones-Onyejiaka.
The juvenile was arrested Oct. 13 in the area of Gulf Stream Row in Columbia and has been charged as an adult with first- and second-degree murder, assault and handgun violations. He cannot be identified under Maryland law until there is a decision from the court to confirm that he will remain in the adult court system.
