Teen, Young Adults Charged In Multiple Carjacking Cases: Howard County Police

A group of young adults and a teen have been charged in connection to several carjacking cases that happened across Howard Co. in October.

HOWARD COUNTY, MD — Four suspects have been charged in connection to three carjackings and two attempted carjackings that happened in October 2022. In each case, two men, sometimes armed, approached adult drivers and demanded their vehicles.

The first attempt was Oct. 3 in the 3300 block of North Ridge Road in Ellicott City, followed by Oct. 7 in the 7100 block of Montevideo Road in Jessup, then Oct. 7 in the 8200 block of Snowden River Parkway in Columbia, followed by Oct. 8 in the 9000 block of Snowden River Parkway in Columbia and again on Oct. 8 in the 6400 block of Dobbin Road in Columbia.

In three cases, the suspects succeeded at stealing the vehicles, according to Howard County Police. In the other two cases, the suspects took off without stealing the cars. No one was injured in any of the incidents.

Through extensive investigation, police identified and arrested the following suspects, who were each charged with armed carjacking, carjacking, armed robbery, robbery, motor vehicle theft, assault and related charges:

  • Imari Travon Green Smith, 18, of Washington, D.C., charged with 42 total counts
  • Quame Allen Skinner, 21, of Washington, D.C., charged with 22 total counts
  • An 18-year-old male from Columbia who was 17 years old at the time of the incidents, charged with multiple counts
  • A 17-year-old male from Washington, D.C., charged with multiple counts
