Tractor-Trailer Crash, Fuel Spill on I-95 South Reported Near MD 175
BREAKING: Special operations crews responded to a crash early Friday morning on Interstate 95 in Howard County, officials said.
HOWARD COUNTY, MD — A crash involving a tractor-trailer and fuel spill is snarling traffic Friday morning on Interstate 95 near MD 175, officials said. The crash was reported at 2:25 a.m., and authorities said lanes may be closed in the area for an extended period for cleanup.
Special operations crews were called to assist after the collision on I-95 south at MD 175 between two trucks, according to the Howard County Department of Fire and Rescue Services.
Both the driver of the tractor-trailer and the driver of the box truck involved in the crash were injured, according to WBAL, which reported one of the vehicles ended up in a ditch.

Three right lanes and the slow shoulder were closed on I-95 south in the area as of 4:45 a.m., with the left lane getting by, state transportation officials reported.

Due to the overnight snowfall, transportation officials encouraged drivers to expect conditions to be different.
"Allow extra time for your morning commute," the Maryland Transportation Authority advised. "Potential remains for slick spots on untreated surfaces. If it looks wet, think ice!"
