Victim In Car-Pedestrian Collision Identified: Police

COLUMBIA, MD — The victim in Saturday's fatal car-pedestrian collision has been identified as Simonne Mari Forsythe, 30, of Waynesboro, Pa. At approximately 3:37 a.m., a 2017 BMW X1 was traveling northbound on Route 29 approaching Rivers Edge Road when it struck Forsythe who was in the roadway, a police report said. Police say Forsythe was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the BMW remained at the scene and was uninjured, police said.

Route 29 northbound between Johns Hopkins Road and Rivers Edge Road was closed for approximately three hours.
