Weather Decision Made For Wednesday: Howard County Public School System
A weather decision has been made for Wednesday, which could be re-evaluated early Wednesday morning, school officials said Tuesday night.
HOWARD COUNTY, MD — Due to Tuesday's storm system continuing to affect Maryland into Wednesday, there will be a two-hour late start for the Howard County Public School System.
All morning sessions of half-day pre-kindergarten and RECC are canceled. Offices also will open late. The situation will be re-evaluated in the morning.
School bus pick up times will be two hours later than normal. All morning childcare programs in HCPSS schools, sponsored by the Columbia Association and the Howard County Department of Recreation and Parks, will be delayed two hours.

The rain started Tuesday morning and got heavier into the evening and overnight. As much as 1 to 3 inches of rain could fall with it finally tapering off sometime Wednesday morning, WBAL reported late Tuesday night. Strong winds also are a factor with gusts up to 40-50 mph, with the strongest winds coming Tuesday evening into Wednesday morning.
