Wegmans Ravioli Is Recalled After Plastic Pieces Are Found

Have you bought this type of ravioli recently at Wegmans in Columbia?

Have you bought this type of Wegmans' store-brand ravioli recently? The grocery store announced it is recalling its store-brand ricotta and spinach ravioli after one customer reported finding pieces of white plastic in the pasta.

According to Wegmans, 1,638 packages of their Italian Classics Striped Ricotta & Spinach Ravioli are affected. That brand of ravioli was sold at 90 Wegmans stores across New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Virginia, Maryland and Massachusetts in August. The affected ravioli was sold between Tuesday, Aug. 2 and Tuesday, Aug. 30, and only products labeled with a use- or freeze-by date of Sept. 30 are included in the recall.

There have been no injuries reported to date associated with the ravioli. The ravioli has been pulled from the shelves and anyone who purchased a package can return it for a full refund, the store said. Any questions, call Wegmans at 855-934-3663.
