What's Open And Closed On Presidents Day In Howard County 2018
See a list of holiday closings and some ideas for things that are open in Howard County for the holiday.

HOWARD COUNTY, MD — Howard County government offices, senior centers, courts and the animal shelter will be closed Monday in observance of Presidents Day 2018. Some services and facilities will be available, according to a statement from county officials.
Presidents Day always falls on the third Monday of February, which this year is Feb. 19.
Many schools, offices and government buildings will be closed. Here are the openings and closings for the holiday:

- Howard County parks: Open
- Cedar Lane, Gary J. Arthur, Kiwanis-Wallas Hall, Meadowbrook Athletic Complex, North Laurel, and Schooley Mill Activity Rooms: Open
- Robinson Nature Center: Closed
- Howard County community 50-plus centers: Closed
- Trash, recycling, food scrap pickup: Collections as usual
- Howard County animal shelter: Closed
- Howard County courts: Closed
- Howard County government offices: Closed
- Howard County Library branches: Closed
- Howard County Public Schools: Closed; games, practices and events canceled
- RTA: Operating as usual
- U.S. Post Office: Closed
- Mall in Columbia: Open
- Retail stores: Open
Presidents Day is typically considered a celebration of George Washington and Abraham Lincoln, who were both born in February, and a day to honor all past U.S. Presidents.
