Donate New, Gently Used Winter Apparel For Kids, Adults In Howard County
Donations of new and gently used coats, hats, scarves and gloves for HoCo men, women and children will be accepted now through October.

HOWARD COUNTY, MD — Donations of coats, hats, scarves and gloves for men, women and children will be accepted now through October for the winter clothing drives hosted by Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. and the MultiService Center. Any family in need of these supplies may pick up donated items, with no registration or proof of need required. The coat drives benefit families served by the Howard County Public School System Pupil Personnel Services office.
AKA will be accepting donations of new items through Sept. 24 at the Wilde Lake Interfaith Center and the Florence Bain Senior Center. MSC will be accepting donations of new and gently used adult and child-sized coats, gloves, mittens and scarves through Oct. 5. Donations can be made at 9900 Washington Blvd., Suite I, Laurel, Md 20723, on the following dates:
- Thursday, Sept. 16, 4:30 to 6:30 p.m.
- Tuesday, Sept. 21, 4:30 to 6:30 p.m.
- Thursday, Sept. 23, 2:00 to 6:30 p.m.
- Tuesday, Sept. 28, 2:00 to 6:30 p.m.
- Thursday, Sept. 30, 2:00 to 6:30 p.m.
- Tuesday, Oct. 5, 2:00 to 6:30 p.m.
AKA will distribute donated items at the Wilde Lake Interfaith Center Sept. 25 from 9:30 a.m. to noon. MSC will distribute donated items at the North Laurel Community Center Oct. 16 from 1 to 3 p.m. Attendees are required to wear masks and socially distance. Due to COVID-19, attendees will not be allowed to try on coats. For more information, call 410-313-0220.
