Woman Died In Columbia Crash: Police
Police said the deadly crash happened on Route 175 near Tamar Drive.

COLUMBIA, MD — A woman died early Sunday morning after a crash in Columbia. Police said she hit a pole on MD 175/Rouse Parkway.
Elysse Camacho, 24, of College Park, was driving east on Route 175 when her car left the road and hit a traffic light pole as she approached Tamar Drive, according to officials.
The crash occurred at approximately 1:59 a.m., police said, and Camacho was the only person inside the 2011 Honda Element.

Camacho was taken to the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore, where police said she was pronounced deceased.
Officials said it was unclear why Camacho's vehicle went off the road. The Howard County Police Department is investigating the cause of the crash.

The crash marked the third fatality involving a vehicle that traveled off the road in Howard County in as many days, after two people were found dead inside a car submerged in the Little Patuxent River on Friday. Police said that crash happened Friday morning and appeared to have occurred when the vehicle went off the MD 108 overpass near Columbia Road. It also remains under investigation.
